Achieving
excellence in clinical practice : a guide to preceptorship and mentoring
This 78-page report was published in October 2004 by the Canadian Nurses
Association. It presents the results of a project carried out between
2003 and 2004 which explored the role of mentoring and preceptorship in
nursing in Canada.
Guidance
for mentors of student nurses and midwives : an RCN toolkit
This toolkit, published in October 2005 by the Royal College of Nursing
(RCN), is designed for a mentor or associate mentor new to the role but
can also act as a useful prompt and update for more experienced mentors.
It looks at the role of the mentor and the support available for mentors,
and provides guidance, including a placement checklist, on how to help
students get the most out of their placements.
Mentor
update : resource workbook
Produced by the University of Sheffield School of Nursing and Midwifery,
the contents of this resource workbook have been developed for mentors
of pre-registration students to assist them in keeping abreast of the
key contemporary developments in the mentorship of students.
